HLC Wellness Briefing Spotlights Multi-Sector Innovation, Employer Survey Showing Expansion of Workplace Health Initiatives
On Thursday, May 30, the Healthcare Leadership Council hosted a Capitol Hill briefing providing details on actions in multiple health industry sectors to prevent chronic disease, strengthen wellness and reduce hospitalizations.
At the event, from left to right, were John Finan, President and CEO, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System of Baton Rouge, LA; Karen Miller-Kovach, Chief Scientific Officer, Weight Watchers International; HLC President Mary R. Grealy; Dr. Stephanie Mills, President and CEO, Franciscan Health and Wellness Services; and Joel Wright, Vice President of Health System Operations, Walgreens.
At the briefing, Ms. Grealy announced the results of an HLC survey of its member companies and organizations, showing that 91% have designated officials to promote wellness in their organizations and 74% of have constructed facilities for physical activity.
