HLC to Testify at U.S. House Hearing on Health Information Technology Opportunities, Challenges
Change Healthcare CEO Will Address Importance of Advancing Data-Driven Healthcare System
Neil de Crescenzo, president and CEO of Change Healthcare and a member of the Healthcare Leadership Council executive committee, will testify Tuesday, March 22 in a House subcommittee hearing on the opportunities and challenges surrounding health information technology.
The hearing is being convened by the House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittees on information technology and health care, benefits and administrative rules. The subcommittee chairs announced they intend to focus on the promise of information technology as well as the barriers to accelerated adoption. Among those also testifying will be Dr. Karen DeSalvo, the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
Change Healthcare operates the largest financial and administrative healthcare network in the United States, linking, among others, approximately 750,000 physicians, 5,000 hospitals and 1,200 public and private payers. The Healthcare Leadership Council is a coalition of chief executives of the nation’s leading healthcare companies representing all health sectors.
The hearing begins at 2 p.m., Eastern time, in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
