Move Over, Grey’s Anatomy, For Real Doctors in Prime Time

I don’t plan to use this space to either review or promote prime time television programming, but I’ll make an exception today.

An eight-week documentary series begins tonight on ABC at 10 p.m., Eastern time.  “New York Med” is an inside look at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.  The hospital gave the show’s producers sufficient access to provide viewers with a compelling look at patients, their conditions and the doctors who work to save their lives and preserve their health.

I’ll offer my disclaimer here.  New York-Presbyterian is a longtime member of the Healthcare Leadership Council, but that also allows me to know that its reputation as one of the nation’s elite healthcare systems is well deserved.
