Statement by Healthcare Leadership Council President Mary R. Grealy on President Biden’s Action to Reopen Health Exchange Enrollment

President Biden’s executive order to reopen the Affordable Care Act state health insurance exchanges is a welcome action at a time in which the economy is struggling and Americans are losing their jobs and employer-provided health insurance.  The Healthcare Leadership Council has strongly advocated the use of special enrollment periods, enabling more working families and individuals to acquire affordable health coverage. We applaud the Biden Administration for taking this important step.

The Healthcare Leadership Council, comprised of companies from every sector of American healthcare, stands ready to work with the Administration in its efforts to make quality health coverage more accessible and affordable and to ensure that low-income individuals have access to Medicaid coverage.
