Communications

At the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC), the leading healthcare industry association representing all segments of American healthcare, Kelly Fernandez manages communications with coalitions, member companies and federal stakeholders through webinars, social media, presentation materials, as well as media and press outreach.

Previously, Ms. Fernandez worked in communications at Vangent, prior to its acquisition by General Dynamics Information Technology and Dell Inc. While at Vangent, she deployed marketing and social media strategies to promote the expertise of corporate leaders and elevate the company’s position within the federal contracting community. In her role at Dell, Ms. Fernandez supported executive communications for the Chief Medical Officer’s speaking engagements related to the HITECH Act and the implementation of meaningful use. Kelly began her career in communications at Virginia Hospital Center, now VHC Health.

Kelly received both a bachelor’s degree in health systems management and a master’s degree in health policy from George Mason University. She serves on Fairfax County Public Schools’ Health Advisory Committee and George Mason University’s Department of Health Administration and Policy’s Professional Undergraduate Advisory Board.
