Sean Brown

Vice President of Communications

Sean Brown serves as the Vice President of Communications at the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC), the leading healthcare industry association representing all segments of American healthcare. In this role, Sean is responsible for overseeing the organization’s communications strategy from press relations to social media and website content.

He joins HLC after nearly nine years at Federation of American Hospitals where he most recently held the position of Vice President, Public Affairs and Digital Strategy. At FAH, Sean was tasked with a wide range of duties that included writing public statements, developing media plans and producing the bi-monthly podcast Hospitals in Focus.

Before joining FAH, Sean served as the Communications Director for Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX) for more than seven years. While there, he was responsible for creating, implementing, and executing all aspects of Rep. Barton’s media strategy. Prior to his time on Capitol Hill, Sean spent 10 years working as a television reporter in Arkansas and Florida.

Sean is a native Texan who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Communication from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, and his Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
