Capitol Hill Briefing Will Address Linkage between Science, Math Education and U.S. Healthcare

The Healthcare Leadership Council, in partnership with the U.S. House STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Education Caucus, will host a congressional briefing this week on “The Importance of STEM Education to Healthcare.”

The briefing will take place on Wednesday, April 2 from noon to 1:30 p.m., EDT in the Rayburn House Office Building.  To RSVP and for more information, contact Teresa de Vries at tdevries@hlc.org.

Speaking at the briefing will be experts from Amgen, the Seton Healthcare Family (affiliated with Ascension Health), Inova Health System and Medtronic.  They will address the necessity for a strong STEM pipeline and the need for an increased number of STEM graduates in the U.S. healthcare system to stimulate innovation and meet the demands of a growing patient population.
