Capitol Hill Briefing Will Focus on Health Privacy Issues
“HIPAA 101” Session on Thursday, March 20 Sponsored by Confidentiality Coalition
A Capitol Hill briefing on Thursday, March 20 will focus on health information privacy and how patient data is protected by current law. The “HIPAA 101” briefing is being sponsored by the Confidentiality Coalition, a multi-organization alliance developed by the Healthcare Leadership Council to advocate policies that protect patient confidentiality while ensuring that information can be utilized to provide safe, high-quality patient care and advance medical research.
Speaking at the briefing will be Kirk J. Nahra, a partner with Washington, D.C-based Wiley Rein LLP, who specializes in privacy and information security litigation and counseling. He has been rated by Chambers USA in the nation’s top tier of privacy attorneys and cited for his “almost encyclopedic knowledge of the law and its application.”
