Healthcare Leadership Council Will Join SSM Health and Others in Moment of Silence to Recognize Heroes of the COVID-19 Pandemic
WASHINGTON – On Monday, May 10 at 10 a.m., the Healthcare Leadership Council will join with multiple organizations and community leaders in observing a moment of silence to recognize healthcare workers, first responders, essential workers and others who have given so much to support their fellow Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The moment of silence was initiated by SSM Health, a not-for-profit health system with hospitals in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin. It comes at the beginning of National Hospital and Health Care Week.
In a statement, Laura S. Kaiser, president and CEO of SSM Health said, “Frontline caregivers, first responders and essential workers in every corner of our community put aside their personal concerns over the past year, rising as true heroes – and businesses and communities stepped up in incredible ways to support them. We simply want to take a moment to lift all those impacted by the pandemic in our thoughts and prayers, joining together in gratitude and remembrance. If we’ve learned one thing through this pandemic, it’s that we are stronger together. This moment of silence is something simple we can each to do demonstrate strength and unity throughout our community as we begin the healing process together.”
