Leaders from Multiple Health Industry Sectors Will Discuss Innovative Efforts to Prevent Opioid Abuse
WASHINGTON – Leading companies and organizations from the insurance, technology and pharmacy sectors, along with federal officials, will discuss health solutions for the growing public health threat of opioid abuse at a congressional staff briefing taking place next Wednesday, April 13.
The briefing, which begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Rayburn House Office Building, Room B339, will offer insights into the various actions being taken using partnerships, data, disposal assistance and other tools. U.S. Representatives Ann Kuster (D-NH) and Frank Guinta (R-NH), Co-Chairs of the Bipartisan Congressional Task Force to Combat the Heroin Epidemic, will make opening remarks, followed by experts from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Surescripts, Walgreens, and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
