“Puts Patients First” – HLC Leader Reacts to Release of Continuing Resolution
Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC) President and CEO Maria Ghazal released to following statement after reviewing the text of the health provisions included in the continuing resolution:
“The continuing resolution text released today puts patients first by protecting flexibilities and programs that improve access to care on several fronts. Whether it is connecting rural Medicare patients to their doctor via smart phone or providing help to someone fighting opioid addiction, we applaud Congressional leaders for extending care options for millions of Americans.
“HLC is pleased to see several critical priorities included in the legislation, specifically, the two-year extension of telehealth flexibilities, the five-year extension of hospital at home waiver flexibilities, and reauthorization of the SUPPORT Act and the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness and Response Act.
“We encourage swift passage of these provisions and look forward to collaborating closely with lawmakers in 2025 in championing private-sector innovation that serves patients.”
